When I woke up this morning, the temperature in the house was 56 degrees. Portia even snuggled under the covers last night. Portia and I now have a morning habit. I wake up, pour my coffee, and sit in my chair with a polarfleece throw on me. Portia waits until I get settled, then she crawls up and snuggles with me.
This morning she didn't want me to get up and get ready for work. Joel and I debated and decided to give in and turn on the furnace. Of course, it'll be 65 while we're home and 60 or 61 while we're asleep, but still. We gave in on 28 Oct 2008.

i thought we were doing good in terms of living without the boiler on until i got home last night and heard it clacking away and then glared at my husband, said nothing, and he responded, "BUT THE CATS ARE COLD!!!!"
of course, then it snowed today and the temp is hovering around 35, so maybe it's just as well that we gave in.

I'd have turned it on today but Cap'n "It's Not Cold!" seems to think I should just add more layers. We'll see how long this lasts!
