I may have mentioned:
- I bought some new clothes in November -- 5 pairs of pants (!) because I badly needed pants. My jeans were quite snug and I really didn't have anything to wear.
- I donated a lot of clothing to Salvation Army before 31 December
- and that I've lost some weight
Well...
- 4 of the 5 pairs of pants no longer fit, and the fifth is barely hanging on for now. I was able to return two pair tonight (thank you J.Jill for a generous return policy, and my obsessive ways for hanging onto the receipts!).
- I'm reduced to wearing jeans (again) and they're quite baggy.
- The bathroom scale seems to be acting more like usual and now shows I've lost about 32 lbs since 1 November. The trick? Weigh BEFORE I take a shower and steam up the bathroom and everything in it.
- I'm taking a pair of pants I didn't donate to the tailor tomorrow to get a zipper replaced. It's an invisible zipper and the way it was sewn in is too much of a pain for me to replace. If the fixed pants are baggy, then I know I'm definitely on the losing train.
Getting sick in December jumpstarted everything. It's no fun eating when you cough so hard your gag reflex kicks in. And then when I could start eating again, I didn't overdo it. I've made small changes. Half a sandwich for lunch instead of a whole sandwich. At least one piece of fruit a day, preferably two. Not so much pasta. More water, very little soda, and cutting back some on the coffee. Keep the candy for the students, not for me. And moving more -- gentle exercise.
I won't say how many more pounds to go, but it'd be great if this kept up. However, I'll have to invest in some more clothing along the way.

Best wishes on your journey! You're doing great, keep at it! :)

Good thing we'll be wearing name badges at MLA or I might not recognize you. Congrats!

Way to go sister! I'm so happy for you. I like your thinking. Small, lasting changes and something physical. I'm trying, too, just being smarter - because we are.
