Here's wishing you a happy, healthy and prosperous 2007! Many of us are hoping 2007 will be much better than 2006.
Most of my winter break plans have been postponed. I did get some housecleaning done, but not nearly as much as I had hoped - needed to do some de-cluttering and reorganization. That didn't happen.
After last weekend's Christmas extravaganza (mostly involving singing, ringing, playing, and Altar Guild duties at church), I took two days off this week and then worked Thu-Sun at the Studio (again, if you want Trendsetter Yarns, you should call/fax 816-531-4466) doing inventory much of that time. The Studio does have lots of other yarn lines available -- it's just that I touched almost every skein/ball of Trendsetter we have in stock. Most of them I don't want to see again after that overload.
This morning I watched the film Rabbit-Proof Fence. I can't begin to tell you how this film moved me -- admiration for one girl's determination and strength, and disgust for laws like the aboriginal act in Australia that encouraged and enforced racism. I was particularly struck by the "half caste" children being seen as the problem - the children had no choice about their parentage; why banish them? This also reminded me of what injustices were inflicted upon Native Americans in this country (a local example -- the Shawnee Indian Mission).
Time to go and be productive. Happy New Year to you all!
