The names of knitting yarns and colors could make a for a fascinating study. For example, there are the yarns Oh My! and Touch Me. There are colors such as Juniper and Ice House.
But this color name takes the cake. Sludge.

I can't imagine going into a yarn store and thinking: My this sludge yarn would make the perfect scarf for my niece. he, he

I probably shouldn't admit this, but I like the color for a scarf, and I think the name is kind of fun.

At Kristin's wedding this weekend, one of my fellow knitters and I got very squirrely & were joking about marrying each other because we're so alike; after we were back in the hotel (in separate rooms), she ran down to our door, knocked, and slid a "Touch Me" ball wrapper under the door....(three of us had each bought enough for that scarf that morning!) ...it was hilarious, and even more so the next day when our friend Beth was laughing about it in the elevator & realized as the older gentleman exited that he would have no idea it was about yarn.... she was exclaiming, "It's YARN! It's YARN!" at his retreating figure.....
Oh us wacky knitters. ;)
