Tuesday night I finished Joel's anniversary/Chanukah/Christmas socks. Yippee!
Last night I went to church for a rehearsal and we stood around while folks rearranged chairs and the borrowed organ. It was somewhat frustrating, because time is precious before Christmas and we had a lot of music to rehearse. I'm supposed to play organ (or piano, or swap back and forth) for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services and hoped to get a little time on the instrument. No luck.
So, I'm taking Friday off, burning a vacation day I had hoped to use for something else. But our music director and I need to get some practice time in together and Friday morning is as good as it's going to get. I have Altar Guild duty this week, and Saturday morning will be devoted to set up, then I go to the yarn shop to work the rest of the day.
Today I'll take a break in the middle of the day to take a dear friend to the INS for fingerprinting. She's starting the naturalization process, and fingerprinting is the first step for a background check.
Maybe I can get some knitting, baking and napping in on Friday afternoon....

NAP?! No, you must not nap in solidarity for your friends still working today.
