The weather is sweet -- cool, but not too cool and everything is fresh and green. While we may have showers later today, the sun is rising in a partly cloudy sky, and the birds are merrily finding breakfast and conversation, if that's what it can be called.
Portia woke us up around 5am. I let her out and stayed up for Morning Prayer and made coffee. Her highness came back inside and what did she do? Did she thank me for getting up and letting her out for kitty TV? No, she crawled in bed with the hubster and thanked him. Mmmm.
I love mornings like this, particularly if they happen when I can take a day off. Alas, this is not one of those days. Classes are over for the semester though, and I can make significant progress (I hope!) on several delayed projects. One of them is inputting data into the new "Faculty Accomplishment System." The first time entering data is the worst, of course, but it'll get gone. I keep my resume up-to-date, which will help with this. Deadline for entering data back to 1 January 2004 -- Friday. And letters. Tis the time of year to write recommendation letters. Have written several for students -- have one more to write for a student and one for a colleauge. It'll all get done.
